Buoyed by another quarter of profits, Republic Services Inc., the nation's second-largest garbage collection and recycling company, on Thursday raised its earnings estimates for the year and increased its quarterly dividend.

Republic Services, Inc. announced today that its Board of Directors has approved a five percent increase in the Company's regular quarterly dividend. Â The quarterly dividend of $0.20 per share will be paid on October 15, 2010 to shareholders of record on October 1, 2010.
